Coleman Anglin
Coleman has practiced oil and gas law since the Barnett Shale transformed North Texas into America's proving ground for unconventional drilling. He has advised operators, service companies, and asset owners across most major U.S. shale plays. His early career as an abstractor navigating county records provided foundational expertise in title research and taught him that building strong relationships with local officials is just as important as understanding the law itself.
Coleman specializes in complex oil and gas title transactions, expertly navigating leasehold assignments carved up by depth and acreage severances—because thinking in three dimensions isn't just for geologists. From these subsurface puzzles to large-scale mineral rights acquisitions, he has overseen due diligence on transactions exceeding $1 billion. His approach centers on translating complex legal issues into clear, actionable strategies that help clients navigate title risks and make informed business decisions. Coleman earned his J.D. from Texas Wesleyan University School of Law (now Texas A&M), where he served as Commencement Speaker of his graduating class and was inducted into the National Order of Barristers, following his B.A. in Philosophy from Southern Methodist University.
