Jo Barrett

Jo represents energy clients in a variety of oil and gas matters. Her practice focuses on title examination and due diligence matters for mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures of oil and gas assets. Jo started her career in oil and gas as an independent petroleum landman where she was initially tasked with performing due diligence for a large acquisition. That transitioned into negotiating agreements, reviewing title, and drilling operations. She has led acquisition and due diligence projects for both privately held and publicly traded oil and gas companies and has written title opinions for drilling operations and acquisitions in Texas, Ohio, and Pennsylvania. Jo brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to the practice.

Jo received her Juris Doctorate from St. Mary’s University School of Law in 2010. Prior to law school, Jo obtained a B.B.A. in Accounting from Sam Houston State University, where she graduated magna cum laude. Jo is licensed to practice in the State of Texas.
